James Smith is Chief Revenue Officer and Co-Founder of 4C LABS, a UK and EU healthcare and pharmaceutical organisation focused on advancing access to high-quality, GMP-certified medicinal cannabis products. James plays a central leadership role in shaping the company’s commercial strategy, partnership development and market expansion, bringing deep commitment to patient access, education and responsible innovation in the emerging medicinal cannabis sector.
In his role, James oversees revenue generation, strategic partnerships and the commercial execution of 4C LABS’ mission to make evidence-based cannabis therapies more accessible to patients with unmet healthcare needs. This includes building distribution networks for EU GMP medical cannabis products, supporting virtual clinic development and strengthening collaboration with clinical service providers and healthcare stakeholders. His leadership is informed by a belief in ethical, science-led expansion of novel treatment pathways and a commitment to destigmatise medical cannabis.
James is also active within the broader industry, he was the past chair of the Cannabis Industry Council Prescription Committee and is currently serving as Co-Chair of the Prescription Cannabis Sub-Committee of the Cannabis Industry Council, where he contributes to policy dialogue and professional standards shaping the future of medical cannabis in the UK.
